The Technology Dilemma:
how to reject new tech and make a movie about it?
To emhasize the impact of everyday productivity services like Yandex 360: Mail, Disk, Telemost, Documents and others
we have made an expiremental movie. The initial idea was to investigate: Is it true that we rely on technology too much?
Does the new tech make us more stupid? And can we give it up without any consequences?
The (hard)core of the movie was that our director Vitya had to reject all online services during the filming
and rely on older ways of communication.
So, the shooting process was an introspection supported by experts’ interviews and a research made by NAFI analytical center.

As the result of this unusual project we have raised the discussion about online services, digital detox
and attracted attention to Yandex 360.
We have achieved 25+ mln impressions, more than 1.5 mln movie views
and earned 6.0 Kinopoisk rating even though the movie was not a feature film, more of a short documentary.
It was a great experience in creative direction of a movie: supervision, supporting it with ideas, texts and of course – promo materials.
